Prepare the rolling total
Add the taxable turnover for the latest 12-month window and enter that total. Repeat the check each month, removing the oldest month and adding the newest. This is a turnover comparison, not a profit calculation. The tool does not collect the 12 individual monthly figures.
Read the boundary correctly
£89,000 leaves £1,000 to reach £90,000. Exactly £90,000 reaches the threshold but does not exceed it. £90,001 is £1 above it. A separate forward-looking test concerns expected taxable turnover above £90,000 in the next 30 days alone.
What the tool cannot decide
This simple comparison does not calculate registration dates, determine exceptions, or test non-established business rules. Read the registration guide and check HMRC guidance before acting. Save the underlying sales breakdown so you can explain how your total was assembled.
An example of a rolling check
If your current 12-month total is £88,000, the outgoing month is £4,000 and the new month is £7,000, the next total is £91,000. Annual accounts or a calendar-year total may hide this movement. A monthly spreadsheet makes the changing window easier to monitor.
Quick answer
Can I use the result without saving an account?
Yes. Calculations run in your browser. Copy the figures into your own records; refreshing the page resets the inputs.
